About RCL Oasis of the Seas

Oasis of the Seas

The Ship. Built in 2009, the Oasis of the Seas and her sister ship, the Allure of the Seas, are the largest cruise ships afloat. At a cost of $1.4 billion apiece, these floating palaces weigh about 225,000 tons and carry more than 5,400 passengers. Best of all, they offer just about every amenity and entertainment option one can imagine. The ships' upper decks are split down the middle, creating a vast interior plaza open to the sky. The interior features a 21,000-square-foot tropical garden called Central Park, and an entire town's worth of boardwalk entertainment. The interior is lined with shops, restaurants, and other entertainment located below balcony cabins.

Dining. The Oasis of the Seas offers a satisfying selection of eateries to ensure that you're never bored. The main dining room rises three levels and seats up to 3,000 guests at a time. Other options that are available for small-to-larger upcharges include:

Giovanni's Table (family-style Italian)
Chops Grill (Chicago-style steakhouse)
150 Central Park (gourmet, eight-course meals)
The Seafood Shack (casual crab-house)
Johnny Rockets (50s-themed diner)
Solarium Bistro and the Vitality Cafe (focusing on healthy meals)
Izumi (serving sushi other Asian cuisine)

Eateries included in the cost include:

Windjammer Marketplace (buffet style with more than 120 rotating menu selections)
Park Cafe
Sorrento's Pizza
Cafe Promenade (serving sandwiches and other lighter fare)
Donut shop (donuts are free but there's a fee for coffee drinks)
Mondo Cafe (serving desserts, sandwiches and coffee around the clock)
... and a Starbucks

Free room service is also available most of the day, with a small charge during the wee hours.

Daytime Activities. The Oasis of the Seas offers an astounding range of activities to keep voyagers entertained:

Zip line
2 Flowrider surfing simulators,
Ice rink
Miniature golf
Giant outdoor movie screen
Rock-climbing wall
Carousel
Ping-pong courts

The cruise ship's six salt-water pools include one reserved for adults; a sports pool for morning lap swimming and afternoon activities such as water basketball, volleyball, badminton, water polo and pole jousting; a pool with sand beach; and the H20 Zone water park for kids. The ship's 10 hot tubs seat as many as 16 people. Best of all, many of the pools and hot tubs are available 24 hours a day.

Duty-free shopping is available onboard, as are other entertaining activities and get-togethers throughout the day. An Internet cafe and Wi-Fi are available as well.

Spa and Fitness. The full-service Vitality at Sea Spa features a Thermal Suite, saunas and steam rooms, and heated tile loungers. There are three massage suites for couples, plus multiple individual treatment rooms. The spa offers all of the basic massages and treatments, plus more-exotic procedures including 24-karat gold facials, Botox injections, acupuncture and teeth whitening.
For all of the relaxation to be found on board, it's also easy to stay fit. The Oasis of the Sea's fitness offerings include:

basketball
volleyball
running/jogging track
fitness center with cardio and weight-training equipment
fitness classes, including cycling, kickboxing, yoga and Pilates

Nighttime Entertainment. Oasis of the Seas has an abundance of nighttime revelry and fun. Vacationers can enjoy water shows, ice skating shows, and comedy shows as well as traditional Broadway-style theater. Numerous bars, lounges and dance clubs feature varied musical styles for every generation. Voyagers can try their luck at the ship's large casino when the ship is at sea. Poker games and tournaments are also staged throughout each voyage.

Kids

Royal Caribbean's kids programs provide fun and learning for children from babies to teens.

Royal Babies and Royal Tots are 45-minute interactive playgroup sessions developed by early childhood experts at Fisher-Price.

The complimentary, award-winning Adventure Ocean Youth Program is let led by accredited, experienced counselors with four-year degrees in education, recreation or a related field. Onboard Oasis of the Seas,, kids aren't just kids. They become inquisitive scientists exploring the insect world, eye-patched pirates, or even the next great athlete to take the gold at the Wacky Olympics. With interactive programs and activities designed just for their age group, Adventure Ocean gives kids the chance to imagine themselves embarking on a whole new adventure.

Teens and tweens
The teen and tween program (12-14 and 14-17) isn't a structured set of classes or rules - these almost adults deserve a vacation all their own. They can join pre-planned events throughout the day or simply hang out in teen-only spaces - with Adventure Ocean staff who keep the good times coming. Activities include rock climbing, dodgeball, video game tournaments, barbecues, movie nights, talent shows and even a DJ Academy.

Kids and teens can enjoy activities into the late evening with extended hours in the Adventure Ocean and teen-only spaces. An hourly rate applies after 10 p.m.
