Best for:

Seasoned adult travelers who are destination oriented, enjoy the finer things in life and are looking for a boutique experience aboard a medium-size ship. Affluent travelers who prefer higher ticket prices and an all-inclusive experience. Solo passengers who want a luxury cruise and are willing to pay the relatively modest single supplement (can be as low as 10% to 30%) on select sailings.

Atmosphere and experience onboard:

A truly upscale all-inclusive experience in spacious suites (on Mariner and Voyager, all have private balconies). A new concierge-level category of accommodation is available.

The cruise price includes shore excursions, hotel stays, pre- and post-cruise tours, beverages (high quality wines at meals, free cocktails throughout the ship), specialty restaurants and gratuities. Service is impeccable and the dining venues - including Italian, French and a steak house - serve the same level of food found at fine land-based restaurants.

Entertainment is fairly traditional: games, Broadway-type revues, karaoke and music. There are small casinos and Canyon Ranch spas/fitness centers.

Because virtually all excursions are included, passengers spend more than the usual time together, so as the cruises progress, there is considerable socializing among them.

Though the onboard atmosphere is relaxed and fairly quiet, the dress code is traditional; "elegant casual" is required after 6 p.m. T-shirts, shorts, sneakers, baseball caps or bathrobes are not allowed in any public area in the evening. During cruises of 16 nights or longer, there will be two formal nights, which require either formal wear or elegant casual clothing. Regardless of dress requirements, most passengers dress up for dinner.

Unexpected on a luxury cruise: complimentary self-service laundry facilities are available.

Clientele:

Affluent, sophisticated well-traveled passengers - from young adults to older (generally retired) seniors, 60+. Most are North American, though Regent is marketing to the U.K., some European countries, Brazil and Japan. The shorter cruises attract slightly younger, more active passengers. Alaska cruises tend to attract families. Regent commands a high degree of customer loyalty among the core demographic on the longer cruises.

Policies regarding children onboard:
Infants must be 1 year of age as of the first day of the cruise. Guests traveling with a young infant that does not meet the infant policy will be denied boarding. Regent Seven Seas Cruises does not provide for the care, entertainment or supervision of children. However, during school holidays, there will be dedicated children's programs.
