The heart of the matter!, September 13, 2010
Reviewer: tkara

Pros: Canada Place is close to everything.

Cons: Ballantyne Pier is not downtown; it's a 10-minute cab ride to downtown

Canada Place is a beautiful port to sail into. Right downtown with 4-5 star hotels at the doorstep. Excellent harbor views from the pier -- for those seeking prime photos. Shoppers will appreciate the excellent shopping within a five- minute walking distance, in either Gastown's heritage district or in Pacific Centre Mall with high-end shopping. Or world-renowned Robson street for leisurely window shopping. Restaurants are excellent. Vancouver tourist information is available even in the Trade & Convention Centre, where you can also take in the 2010 Olympic areas. However, most locals will offer advice on where to eat or shop depending on what you're looking for. Don't hesitate to ask someone for help - they're friendly! The bigger problem is that you'll probably meet another tourist!

Fantastic picturesque city, September 8, 2010

Pros: Fantastic views and wildlife

Cons: Homeless people on the streets begging

Vancouver is a fantastic city. Good shopping, great scenery and fantastic wildlife. We went on a whale-watching cruise from Granville Island and came across a super pod of killer whales.
