CruiseCompete Includes Amadeus River Cruises In Comprehensive Cruise Offerings

Amadeus Has Impressive Pedigree and is One of Europe’s Historical River Cruise Lines

DETROIT (Feb. 21, 2017) – CruiseCompete is proud to add Amadeus River Cruises to its comprehensive cruise offerings as a part of the website’s river cruise segment.

Amadeus River Cruises has sailed quietly beneath the radar compared to some of the big names on the river cruise scene, but has an impressive pedigree stretching back more than 30 years and is one of Europe’s longest established river lines.

Now being sold on the U.S. market with English as the main onboard language, the Austrian family-owned company is growing steadily. Amadeus River Cruises sails on Europe’s most popular rivers, including the Danube, Rhine, Rhone, Main and Saone, and the fleet will grow to 14 vessels when Amadeus Provence launches in France in spring 2017. All Amadeus ships boast a number of unique features that make them stand out from the crowd and provide a high-quality, flexible and value-for-money product.

Most river cruise lines include at least one daily excursion in the price of the fare, whether or not passengers choose to take them. Amadeus provides competitively priced cruises by giving travellers complete freedom to do as much or as little as they choose–and pay accordingly. For all cruises, there is an ‘a la carte’ program of customizable excursion packages ranging from four shore tours during a week-long cruise to a schedule with up to two per day. These can be booked in advance at a 15-percent discount.

The two newest flagships, Amadeus Silver II and Silver III, carry just 168 passengers (many same-size vessels carry 190) so there is a high crew-to-passenger ratio and space for additional amenities, including a hair salon, massage room and gym. These facilities are also available on the rest of the fleet, along with complimentary bicycles. In a first for river vessels, every suite and French balcony cabin on the duo of Silver ships has a roomy walk-in closet. The ships boast a modern, elegant decor and, in a nod to their Austrian heritage, include a cozy Viennese cafe. Coming in April will be their newest ship, the Amadeus Provence, featuring another river ship first – an infinity pool.

Cuisine features regional and familiar dishes with complimentary wine, beer and soda with lunch and dinner. The majority of river cruise lines offer a three- or four-course dinner, but Amadeus features a five-course evening meal as standard. It is also one of few river lines to provide a late-night snack. In addition to the main dining room, passengers can also pay a small premium for the Highlight Dinner, served in a private dining area in the lounge and ideal for celebrating birthdays and special occasions.

A second smaller lounge has its own bar and can be made available for groups and private parties.

Amadeus is the only river cruise company operating on the European waterways to be awarded the green certificate seal of approval by Green Globe, an association that works with travel organizations to promote environmentally friendly travel.

Amadeus cruises start at eight days and destinations include Holland & Belgium, Danube, Seine, Rhine/Main, Rhone/Saone, across Europe and theme cruises.
