Pros: Very clean, easy to navigate around town.
Cons: Nothing
We had a great time both times we have had the chance to go ashore. The island is quite beautiful and clean. Many shops with a European feel. Found some lovely handmade linens for gifts. Good quality for the value.

The A in the ABC Islands of the Deep Southern Caribbean, May 26, 2010

Pros: Best climate and no hurricanes
Cons: Aruba is not cheap
You have not seen the best of the Caribbean until you see the Dutch Antilles. An arid climate with beautiful beaches that always have warm clear water. Oranjestad has fancy shopping malls for those that are not beach goers. Eagle Beach and Palm Beach are a short cheap bus ride from near the pier. Palm Beach is the photogenic hotel beach with all the upscale services you can imagine along with $6 beers. Snorkeling is only fair. About two miles before Palm Beach is Eagle Beach. It has better snorkeling with all the services you need with more reasonable prices. However, the best beach is Baby Beach. This is where the locals go. It is a $20 per person round trip taxi ride and has more rustic services. It is a large calm lagoon with $2.50 beers. Chairs and umbrellas are expensive at $15 each like the rest of Aruba. You can rent a chair and lay in the knee deep water and enjoy the beauty. There are huge numbers of tropical sea life at the reef and you can rent snorkeling equipment for $8 if you don't have your own. Just don't get your back sunburned as you watch the amazing show. Baby Beach is not on the beaten path, but should not be missed.
