Cabins a bit small, but lectures and tours are excellent and well researched, June 14, 2013
Reviewer: fangles74

Pros: Interesting fellow passengers, and open dining facilitates good conversation

Cons: No tiered seating, so presenter's visual aids difficult to see.

Good for children: No

Good for teenagers: No

Small ship cruising isn't for everyone, but its advantages are the ability to get into small ports such as Helsingor, and the speed of loading and unloading passengers. Typical passengers are "travellers" rather than "tourists", appear interested in the culture of the places visited, and would have gained from the specialist presentations and pre-tour briefings. Minerva has an extremely high percentage of repeat business, which indicates a high level of client satisfaction. But it also indicates an aging client base, and although on the whole fit and sprightly, perhaps the cruise line should recognise this as a looming problem, and direct more effort at a (slightly) younger audience - ie. those between 45 and 65. This is not a ship for children as there is little for them to do. Outside of the tours (free) and lectures, the most popular venues by day were the very well stocked library and the lounge bar areas, where the attentive and very cheerful staff offered excellent service. Alcohol is chargeable, but tea/ coffee etc is free. Would I use them again? Yes, I have already booked my next cruise on Minerva.
