The service on board is poor, not enough choice of restaurants and food., October 14, 2015
Reviewer: shimon.ani
Pros: The balcony suite was big and offered a great view
Cons: The service on board is poor, the evening has only one restaurant.
Date of cruise: October 1, 2015
Departure port: Triest
Region visited: Europe
Cabin category: Balcony
Good for teenagers: Yes
The service on board is poor. In the evening only one restaurant is working. Not enough choice of restaurants and food. Most of the food is based on pasta and beef steak none at all. There is not enough choice of entertainment. The disco dancing opens at 23:30 p.m. only two nights. The overall experience is that Costa saves on everything and is just trying to take your money. If you like Italian food and Italian entertainment maybe it's the place for you.

When we boarded the ship in Miami we had no idea that it was coming from Savona. The Europeans on board were rude and acted as though they owned the ship. A big problem was that in Guadeloupe they took on many more passengers who had large families. The children were allowed to run wild even at 1 a.m. The food in the main dining room was by and large great. The pasta was iffy sometimes. Decaf coffee was only available at lunch and dinner as Sanka instant in the main dining room. The specialty Restaurant was wonderful. The wine pairing menu was a real treat. The staff was very helpful in sorting out problems and keeping the ship clean. The cabin staff were very accommodating in keeping our cabin clean and getting us additional pillows and such. The shops on board were very meagerly stocked. I needed Tylenol and my friend needed cough drops they had neither. Other ships I've been on had a good selection of liqueur there was very little to choose from here. I am as much in favor of helping the environment as the next person. However, the cruise line did not warn us that we would have to supply our own shampoo and conditioner and lotion. We had to hunt down a pharmacy on an island that did not take dollars only Euros.

Pros: Excellent itinerary, seven-day Greek island cruise.
Cons: Female middle ship management need to be taught the meaning of customer service.
Date of cruise: July 26, 2013
Departure port: Heraklion, Greece
Region visited: Mediterranean
Cabin category: Balcony
We delighted in the excellent itinerary for this seven-day Greek island cruise. Cabins are spacious and bathrooms well designed. Public announcements are always in Italian, but not always in English and when I pointed this out to customer service she (crew member) was prepared to argue the point with me. On a matter of a refund of charges, I was embarrassed deliberately and it was demonstrated that my problem was not acceptable. We ordered pasta dishes in the dining room to sample them at their best, but our dishes were overcooked, poorly presented or served cold. The food in the Bistros was a better presentation than that of the dining room. I know you don't like negatives but I needed to make these remarks. This was our fourth cruise!
