Pros: The presentations on Hawaiian culture, volcanoes & astronomy. Crew outstanding.
Cons: Long embarkment, tenders and disembarkment.
Date of cruise: November 19, 2012
Departure port: San Diego
Region visited: Hawaii
Cabin category: Inside
Cabin number: 9193
The cruise was delightful. An elegant, mid-size ship. Captain, cruise director and all crew were fantastic. Enjoyed the many days at sea, Lovely lunches and dinners in the main dining room, breakfast outside on the deck. Dancers, comedian, magician were great. Outstanding presentations on Hawaiian culture, navigation, volcanoes and astronomy (went out on deck at night and professors identified the stars so important to navigation to Tahitians going to Hawaii). Crew members were unfailingly professional, polite and fun. The many Indonesians working on board were especially wonderful towards the passengers. Have taken several cruises, and have boarded and disembarked without long delays, but this cruise was exceptionally bad in this respect. San Diego is a very good choice of port as the airport and many hotels are so close to the cruise port.

We had a five-night trip to Caribbean and it was a wonderful experience. We chose the "Guaranteed" room and got a nice location. The inside room was a little small, and we felt dizzy staying inside the room when the ship was shaking, so we chose to spend most of our time on the public areas. Wonderful food, friendly staff are the highlights of the trip. The only issue that I had was the yoga class I registered for was too crowded. (The gym only had a very small place for yoga class, and the full capacity is 10 people.) I ended up withdrawing from the class. There were a lot of activities going on, but I just felt the DJ was not doing a very good job in engaging everyone. Overall, the ship was clean and well maintained and we had a good time!

I am a veteran of 20+ Celebrity cruises, Captains Club Elite member and a RCCL stockholder. Other than the dining room experience which has improved somewhat, the remainder of the cruise experience has been diminished. There were very few activities available. Prizes that were distributed for winning the few activities were an embarrassment. The crew that once made you feel like royalty now has a devil-may-care attitude. The buffet staff now does not assist people with their trays as they once did. No towel animals in your stateroom. The future cruise salesperson had a take-it or leave-it attitude. We cruised the Med (6/15/2010). The itinerary was fantastic. The cruise company was not.

Exquisite ship with an amazing staff, May 19, 2010
Reviewer: mucklucks811
Pros: Great food, crew and amazing ship
Cons: Planned activites are almost nonexistent, most passengers over 65
Departure port: miami
Region visited: Bahamas
Cabin category: Inside
Good for children: No
Good for teenagers: No
The Century is an older ship and although she has been refurbished she needs more updating. The crew is professional, the food is spectacular whether in the buffet, main dining room, or Murano, the specialty restaurant ($30 pp). She is a sleepy ship. The ship needs to update its activities and offer better entertainment choices in the evening. The ports such as Key West need to be changed as well. It was a great way to try Celebrity and although Celebrity looks good on paper I would rather be on a fun ship in all her gaudy pride.
