Port for Monte Carlo, September 4, 2010

Pros: Picturesque French Riviera seacoast town

Cons: Little to see near ship.

This is a small town on the French Riviera. The ship anchored here and we rode tenders to the dock. We took a train into Monaco and walked to the Monte Carlo casino. It cost 10 Euros each to enter and you had to be properly dressed, so we did not go in. It's impressive from the outside. This is the most densely populated country in the world. You see many exotic cars, like Rolls Royces, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, etc. We walked up to the Palace where the Prince lives. We went into the Cathedral where Princess Grace (Kelly) and the other princes and princesses of Monaco are buried. We took a bus back to center of town and transferred to another bus to Eze (pronounced Ehz). This is a very small village up high on the side of a mountain overlooking the Med. We went to a perfume store/factory and stopped at sidewalk cafe for a cappuccino. We then took a bus down the mountain - exciting ride. Another bus took us back to the ship.
