The cruise ship is alright, but not as good as expected for just being remodeled, May 30, 2012
Reviewer: brn2shop77
Pros: The carpet was brand new and they added an outdoor movie screen.
Cons: The entertainment wasn't very good there wasn't enough variety.
Date of cruise: May 18, 2012
Departure port: Seattle
Region visited: Alaska
Cabin category: Outside
Cabin number: 2084
Good for children: Yes
Good for teenagers: Yes
The ship just had a 54 million dollar renovation a month ago, but you really couldn't tell besides the new smelling carpet throughout the ship. There was supposed to be Ipads in each room to access your account, but I was told that RC ran out of money so they didn't install them. The rooms don't have interactive TV, so you have to go to guest services to find out the balance on your account. We had a window room and they no longer have refrigerators. The room no longer had a small sofa it just had a chair. They got rid of the hard plastic shower enclosure and added a shower curtain. Which lets water go everywhere on the floor, toilet, and then the shower curtain clings to you while you're in the shower. The entertainment was a Broadway show each night except the last night they had a fantastic comedian. They added two shows in the Centrium area of the boat, but didn't announce the time of the shows so we missed the first one. The food was good as usual and they added the Park Cafe in the solarium and it had even better food then the Windjammer. The dining room was also very good. We took this cruise to Alaska which was beautiful I would recommend the Radiance of the Sea over the Rhapsody of the Sea if you have a choice. I've been on both boats and the Radiance is much nicer with more to do on it.

Nice ship, clean stateroom, however shows and buffet not what expected., June 9, 2010
Reviewer: mccull54
Pros: Clean ship, friendly staff
Cons: Theater shows, buffet
Date of cruise: May 28, 2010
Departure port: Seattle
Region visited: Alaska
Cabin category: Suite
The ship was a good size, not too big or too small. Clean. Plenty of hand sanitizer available but we caught a virus anyway. Buffet was limited compared to what I expected but the food was good. Excellent food in the main dining room. Midnight buffet no longer exists. There were 2-3 really good shows in the theater but there were a couple of really bad ones, too. The destination was Alaska and the scenery was wonderful. The captain was able to get close to the glacier and made for nice pictures. Activities during the day seemed limited (or maybe they just didn't appeal to me) but there were several nice choices for late night. Be careful of the descriptions in your cruise excursion brochure as they seem embellished. Overall, good cruise for the money.

The Rhapsody was everything we could ask for, May 12, 2010

Pros: Everyone had a great time
Cons: I couldn't find anything bad
Departure port: Sydney
Region visited: South Pacific/Australia
Cabin category: Outside
Good for children: Yes
Good for teenagers: Yes
The Rhapsody was the best cruise we have been on. The staff were excellent and so friendly. The kids club was wonderful, we couldn't keep our children out of it. I like Royal Caribbean's kids club because it has the age groups perfect. The cabins were exellent and beautifully made up twice a day. You could do something all day and all night or you could just relax. The food was spectacular. We are a family of four and all I can say is if you want a fantastic holiday and not have to worry about anything except what you are going to eat and drink then Royal Caribbean is the best choice. Having a teenager with us, we felt this ship was very safe as the crew were very watchful of all children.
