Amazing port to be in, December 3, 2015
Reviewer: alex2015

Pros: The attractions, you have Orlando, Kennedy Space center, and of course the beach

Cons: Nothing

Port Canaveral is a pretty unique port, and for good reason. Just west of Port Canaveral there is Orlando. Just about an hour away and you can enjoy the parks, the outlets, or just really good food. With other attractions like the Orlando Eye, its definitely a nice place to hang out before cruising. You also have Daytona Beach, or just a little more north New Smyrna with beautiful white sand. Also nearby is Kennedy Space Center, which has been growing very fast as of late. All in all, Port Canaveral has a ton to offer, I'd say it's the best port to cruise out of because the vacation doesn't need to start or end with the cruise itself. Enjoy your trip just a bit longer and take advantage of everything Port Canaveral has to offer.

Great experience., November 22, 2014
Reviewer: OK2014

Pros: Easy to navigate, clean, organized.

Cons: Not much to see inside the port.

We landed around 9 a.m. at Orlando airport and by 10 a.m. we were on our way to the port. We booked our private transport with STAR TRANS-VIP two weeks prior to our trip. Travel time from the airport to PORT CANAVERAL is one hour. So by 10:30 a.m. we were inside the port. It was way too early and we had to wait until 1noon to board the ship. There is not much to do/see inside the port. :( Kids were very bored. But when the time came everything was very organized, fast and stress-free (CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE). I thought the port was very easy to navigate and not very busy. We had similar experience when we came back from the cruise. We booked our return with STAR TRANS-VIP at 9:30 a.m. and arrived to the Orlando airport at 10:20 a.m. (1.45 hr prior to our departure). We will definitely come back next year. There is only one thing I will change. Next time we will arrive a day before our cruise and stay at one of the hotels near the port. It is so much more convenient!

We had an excellent time & no major problems with our experience, April 7, 2013
Reviewer: Brendasmpt

Pros: Pleasurable experience

Cons: Nothing

We had no problems getting to the ship and had a good time on board ship. The ship was smaller than we expected but since it was the last voyage of the Monarch of the Seas, it was an old ship. We enjoyed the huge buffet for meals, especially breakfast. We didn't care for the dining room as much as the buffet because the variety was greater on the buffet. The entertainment was great and most of the crew was friendly and helpful. Can't wait to take another cruise!!

Fast and Easy, April 21, 2012
Reviewer: cruise

Pros: Everything

Cons: Didn't really find any

As soon as we got to the port, finding our way to the pier was easy. The signs were helpful as in when they pointed one way that was the correct way to go. No guessing if they meant this street or that one. Once at our pier, checkin was fast and orginized. Everyone knew what they were doing and had their routine down pat. Was onbroad in about 20 minutes. Coming home was the same. Walked off the ship, signs pointed to where we pick up our baggage, about 15 minutes later we were in our car and off.

So close but gets you so far away, September 8, 2010
Reviewer: jnutter9

Pros: Close to home; no airfare

Cons: Time you board the ship and it departs :-)

Port Canaveral is close to our home in Central Florida. It is not a busy port and is it a relaxing drive to get there. If you are coming in from another state you are close to Disney, great beach at Cocoa, Kennedy Space Center, a national seashore. Don't overlook this great little port...and there are inexpensive motels close by for an overnight stay.
