We just got back from a 10-day Paul Gauguin cruise in French Polynesia and we are already starting to save for the next time. This was our first cruise and we had never been interested in taking one of those giant cruises. This was an amazing experience. The quality of the food, service, beverages, everything -- it was fantastic. Our suite with balcony was worth the extra money. They offered great excursions at reasonable prices. We are so happy that we went with this cruise and we will tell all our friends to try. I can't say enough positive things. Simply wonderful!

The ship is lovely. Simple and elegant. It is designed so as not to compete with the incredible surroundings. I felt more like I was staying in an upscale Bed & Breakfast, than a cruise ship. Many of the staff have worked on the ship for years and they seem like family. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and professional. Beds are extremely comfortable, every food item was delicious. This is the best food I have had on any cruise, and there is always an excellent selection to choose from. I preferred the main dining room to the specialty restaurant. A very nice touch was the little mini desserts served after dinner. Les Gauguins are sweet and very talented, we loved their shows. The fellow passengers are well traveled, intelligent, fun and interesting. The focus is on watersports and the Polynesian culture. Excellent water sports team and platform. Great place to learn to dive. Each island is more beautiful than the next and the sea life is like none other.
