Experienced ocean cruiser on my first river cruise, which was a 7-day Tulip Time cruise. AMA waived the single supplement, which sold me on this cruise vs. other companies. Crew all friendly and helpful, esp. the cruise director and dining room staff. Did not use the sun deck much as it was cool and rainy much of our trip. Although I did not have a balcony cabin, my cabin was fine, and it was a special treat to have both Wifi and a monitor and keyboard to access the internet in my cabin. Water bottles provided and in-room refrigerator. Bathroom was well laid out. Cabin attendant very efficient and available if needed. Lounge well furnished although some of the chairs were more attractive than comfortable. Food was excellent with only a very few exceptions (duck one night was overcooked, dry and tough). A few problems with getting items ordered from menu delivered to the correct person; their system for recording which table/seat ordered something could be improved.

Departure port: Nuremberg
Region visited: Europe
Cabin category: Balcony
Good for teenagers: Yes
We arranged a 4 day precruise stay in Berlin before we took a train to Nuremberg where we boarded the AmaCerto for a 7 day cruise to Budapest. We have been on 3 European river cruises before and liked this one - our 4th the best. Visiting Christmas Markets along the way really added to the experience of Christmas. Drinking hot spiced wine on the upper deck and listening to Christmas carols added flair. The mood was festive. The AmaCerto is a marvelous ship, the food was excellent and everyone on-board made a great effort to make this a once of a lifetime experience for us. I think they succeeded.
