Avalon really is like a little slice of the southern Mediterranean right here of the coast of southern California. Rocky cliffs, quaint little beaches tucked into small coves, extremely clear water full of abundant sea life. Very reminiscent of Greece in my opinion. There is a wonderful boardwalk full of open air bars and restaurants for you to relax after a nice day of diving or snorkeling. Several other places have a southern European flare to them and can provide a very romantic evening.
